چکیده

The hydroelastic symmetric response of a floating ice sheet caused by pressure moving either in the lead or on infinite with crack (a zero width) is investigated. modeled as viscoelastic thin plate. water constant depth. flow under potential and linear. A boundary integral method (BIM) for combined finite difference plate free-free edge conditions to solve coupled problem linear hydroelasticity. Numerical results deflections stress distributions are shown agree well available others. proposed approach can be applied problems different positions load respect lead. responses studied speed load. subcritical, critical, supercritical critical elastic speeds load, which provide maximum deflection, stress, wave-making resistance, determined. All these greater than an effect thickness, width, properties discussed.

Solutions of the nonlinear water wave equations under an ice sheet are computed using a boundary integral equation method. The ice sheet is modelled as a thin elastic plate and the fluid equations are nonlinear.
